Generally, a server chassis is used in environments where multiple parallel servers are needed to work on a core business application. They typically are not designed to be connected to a display device but can be connected to a laptop/monitor for application/OS installation and maintenance.
Server chassis come in various forms, including rack and pedestal (tower). They can be classified according to their physical dimensions and are termed as being 1U rack server, 2U rack server, and up to 20U and more, where U represents the number of units. Typically a 1U server rack can house up to two servers in rack or tower form/enclosure. A server chassis can easily be upgraded/expanded to add more servers such as upgrading from 1U to 2U and above.

- SGCC: The surface of the cold-rolled sheet is plated with a zinc layer. The surface is smooth and gray. It is also rust-resistant and corrosion-resistant. It is generally found in high-end chassis and server chassis.
- Aluminum: Aluminum profiles have good plasticity and processing properties, good surface treatment properties, and strong corrosion resistance. Aluminum is brushed and anodized, and its appearance will is more beautiful, so it is usually used as a front panel decoration for server chassis.

Server Chassis Surface Treatment
The surface treatment of server chassis is roughly divided into two spraying processes
- Powder Coating: The powder coating treatment provides a thin polymer coating to the surface, enhancing decoration and improving corrosion and weather resistance.
- Spray painting: Spray painting is to disperse liquid paint (usually called paint) into paint mist particles with the help of compressed air, which adheres to the surface of the object to be painted. The surface will be more delicate. But not wear-resistant, easy to scratch

According to drawings
- Laser Cutting – Laser cutting technology uses drawing to create high-precision sheet metal material for server chassis.
- CNC punch – OneChassis uses a CNC punch to set the appropriate die according to the drawing. The complete high-precision stamping process
- Stamping: OneChassis uses a stamping machine, according to the drawing, using the die of the drawing specification, to stamp out the unnecessary part of the sheet metal plate of the server chassis, or stamp out the required shape.
- Bending: OneChassis uses a bending machine to select appropriate bending dies and settings according to the requirements of the drawings to perform the bending process on the sheet metal material of the server chassis

A server chassis is a metal structure that you can utilize to physically house and assemble servers. With a server case, you can put multiple servers and other storage equipment within a single body.
If you plan to reduce the amount of physical space consumed by a standard server, the server chassis is designed for you.
Server cases come in various forms, from tower cases, and rackmount cases, to blade server cases which are distinguished according to physical dimensions such as shapes and sizes.
- Tower cases – these are referred to as the traditional desktop computer cases. If you own a desktop computer, you most likely would already be familiar with its typical server tower case that stands up to 18” high.
- Rackmount cases – if you need more than a few servers to house, you would also need a little more space which rackmount servers are specially designed to offer.
- Rackmount cases are the ones that are housed within small server cases designed to fit into the standard 19” equipment racks.
- Blade server cases – Blade servers are servers on a single card that can be mounted alongside other blade servers in a blade server case.
